49ers vs. Seahawks expert predictions for Week 6 Thursday Night Football

Week 6 of the 2024 NFL season begins with a divisional game on Thursday night.

The San Francisco 49ers travel north to take on the Seattle Seahawks in a game with big postseason implications. The winner of Thursday night's game will be the No. 1 team in the NFC West, which advances to the remainder of Week 6.

Both teams enter the duel with losses – the 49ers lost at home to the Arizona Cardinals, while the Seahawks lost at home to the New York Giants.

Noah Camras: The 49ers have dominated the Seahawks of late, winning the last five meetings, including a Wild Card win in 2023. The 49ers have fallen well short of expectations this season, but they'll bounce back in what looks like a must-win game against Seattle come the trail. Brock Purdy will have a great game with his arsenal of weapons and the 49ers defense will make timely stops against Geno Smith.

Prediction: 49ers 28, Seahawks 20

John Robinson IV: The Seahawks will expose a 49ers rush defense that has looked suspect at best this season. Seattle will look to get revenge against an NFC West rival to prove to the USA that they are a legitimate contender this season. Expect Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker to be the catalyst for a win in Seattle.

Prediction: Seahawks 27, 49ers 24

Matt Levine: In this NFC West battle, both sides will look to make a statement. Seattle's defense has suffered some serious setbacks due to injuries, leaving them vulnerable in this matchup. San Francisco hasn't looked great so far this season, but injuries have also taken their toll. Since this is a huge game, I'm going with the 49ers trying to pull out a narrow road win.

Prediction: 49ers 34, Seahawks 30

James Brizuela: The 49ers are still severely impacted by the absence of Christian McCaffrey, as well as Brandon Aiyuk, who is not committed and not living up to the contract he just received. Additionally, placing Talanoa Hufanga on IR will have a significant impact on the secondary. However, in San Francisco, Fred Warner and George Kittle are back in the squad and are probably healthy. The Seahawks have the advantage of good offense and home field advantage. Still, you can expect a shootout to occur and the 49ers to come away with a big win.

Prediction: 49ers 31, Seahawks 28

Valentina Martinez: The teams in the NFC West have had quite a roller coaster ride this season. However, the 49ers will manage to complete the Thursday Night Football showdown against Seattle. San Francisco's defense won't be stellar, but Brock Purdy and Co. will outwork the Seahawks and get the big win.

Prediction: 49ers 32, Seahawks 24
