Adam Brody's marriage and extremely private personal life with Leighton Meester

Adam Brody is the actor everyone is talking about right now. Although he is revered for his previous roles in Gilmore Girls, Shazam and, perhaps most of all iconic, The OKthe actor is getting a lot of traction thanks to his brand new Netflix show, Nobody wants that.

Play along on the side Kristen Bell, 44, plays a rabbi named Noah who meets Joanne, a non-Jewish single girl with whom he has a good connection, but whose different cultural backgrounds challenge their relationship.

However, away from the show, Adam's love life seems to be going more smoothly as he is happily married to his fellow actress Leighton Meester, 38, for a decade.

The couple met in the 2000s when Leighton was still filming the television and cultural phenomenon. Gossip Girl, and he admitted that he was immediately taken with her.

Many years later, they are now husband, wife and parents!

How Adam Brody and Leighton Meester met

Adam previously revealed that he met his future wife at a deli in Los Angeles. Although he didn't name the year, he explained that Leighton was dating her co-stars on the show at the time gossip Girlwhich means their paths would have crossed for the first time around 2007.

“I was eating (at this deli in LA) all the time and I was there alone with maybe one or two friends, and (writer and executive producer) Josh (Safran) happened to take some of the cast with him gossip Girl through after a prop party after your first upfronts, and then I saw her. I was immediately blown away.

He added: “I was blown away for a long time. I haven't met her for many years, although we worked together briefly, and she's so lovely and she's so sweet, she's so nice, she's so good.”

Although he knew Adam had met The One, he openly revealed that Leighton remained cool at first and only showed interest much later.

“That's to her credit, she remained inaccessible to me for so long. And distant! I couldn't read it all the way through because even though she said she was interested in me and all that stuff, not only did she not pursue it, but she was quite willing to never let that happen.

He continued: “There were many false starts and she was quite willing to let the message in a bottle return to sea.”

In 2010, Adam and Leighton crossed paths again when they were both cast in the film The oranges and they have been together almost always since then, although their romance did not become public until a few years later. They were engaged in November 2013.

A private, romantic wedding

Adam and Leighton married in early 2014 in an extremely private and intimate ceremony. The couple decided to keep the details of their wedding private, which is why not much about it is made public.

About the time they got married, E! News reported that they said “I do” in a “beautiful” Northern California oceanfront ceremony surrounded by family and friends.

What Adam and Leighton said about each other

The couple prefers to remain as private as possible, but both shared the strange anecdote about what their life as a married couple is like.

In one previous interview with GQAdam explained how they manage to stay so private: “She's naturally more private than I am.”

He added: “I don’t (criticize) anyone who monetizes that aspect of their life because I understand it. But we've found this great balance so far that really works for us. We're also not very active on social media.”

In a recent interview, Adam told Today with Hoda and Jenna the secret to a happy marriage: “Pick someone good. Be in love with someone great and listen to them. If you’re with someone great, you’re at third base.”

“It takes sacrifice and humility and you have to grow together and you have to be willing to grow because you're not going to be able to stay where you are 100 percent, but yeah, if you're with someone who “It’s wonderful, then.” You’re in third place.

Adam and Leighton don't often appear in public together

Leighton also shared how happy she is that she and Adam found each other. Chat with E! News, She described their relationship as the same as any “normal relationship – with all the good and the bad.”

She added: “We are super, super lucky and I think we realize how lucky we are with each other. We give each other a lot of respect, time, attention and concentration. We really invested our time and energy into the relationship.”

Adams and Leighton's rare comments about their children

Adam and Leighton are parents of two children: a daughter aged nine and a son aged four.

In 2019, before they welcomed their son, Adam shared GQ about his close bond with his daughter: It is what I am most proud of and what brings me the most joy. She's just so damn amazing.

“She's even become my security blanket for the outside world, like, 'I don't need your approval, I have my daughter'.”

During the same conversation with Hoda and Jenna on Today, he said he and Leighton were very “honest” in their parenting style. “We have some honest conversations, for better or worse, but other than that I wouldn't say we're overly strict. But I’m keeping them safe!”
