Important update on 5-star Ohio State Buckeyes defensive target revealed

The Ohio State Buckeyes have received an important update on one of their five-star defensive line prospects.

Jahkeem Stewart has reportedly moved into the 2025 recruiting class. It was originally intended for the 2026 class. Now Ohio State will have a chance to recruit him to next year's class, which is already arguably the best in the country.

A native of Edna Karr in Reserve, Louisiana, Stewart is a highly sought-after target. A number of elite schools are fighting for his commitment.

Currently, Stewart is considered the No. 3 defensive lineman in his class and the No. 1 prospect in Louisiana. He is also ranked 19th nationally.

In addition to the Buckeyes, Stewart is receiving significant interest from LSU, Oregon and USC. Before he decides to commit, other teams could come into play.

Currently, Stewart has a tentative plan to visit Ohio State when they face Michigan on November 30th. A win in this game over the arch-rival Wolverines could be crucial in landing Stewart.

His high school coach Nick Foster spoke about Stewart and provided an impressive description of the standout defensive lineman.

“I mean, just going up against opponents and seeing that kid get off the bus at 6-6, 290, it’s intimidating. But even if the athleticism and play match the eye test, everything fits together. It just creates a sense of terror.”

Stewart would be a huge addition for the Buckeyes to an already busy 2025 class. Ohio State currently has six defensive linemen committed to the team in the 2025 class. However, Stewart would be the cream of the crop if they could sign him.

With that in mind, it will be interesting to see what Stewart decides to do. There is no timetable for his signing, but this reclassification will mean the Buckeyes will find out sooner than they thought.
