ATP Shanghai Day 7 predictions, including Djokovic vs Cobolli

Twelve games will take place on the seventh day of the ATP Masters 1000 event in Shanghai, weather permitting. The rain has already caused massive delays and everyone is hoping for nice weather so that the tournament can be completed on time. If all goes well, the conclusion of the third round of the tournament will take place on Day 7.

ATP Shanghai Day 7 Predictions

David Goffin vs. Marcos Giron

Head-to-head: Giron 2-0 Goffin

Although Goffin's best days definitely seem to be behind him, he is still capable of occasional good performances and great wins, such as against Musetti in the previous round here. This win will certainly have given him a lot of motivation ahead of this clash with Giron, which represents a great opportunity to go further in the draw. While Giron is a solid player, if Goffin fulfills his potential, he is definitely a level up and should be able to assert himself.
Forecast: Goffin in 3

Jakub Mensik vs. Alexander Shevchenko

Head-to-head: Mensik 2:0 Shevchenko

Shevchenko may still be the higher-ranked player of the two, but that probably won't last much longer. Mensik is one of the most talented young players on the tour and continues to develop. He scored a stunning win over last year's finalist Andrey Rublev in the previous round and looks poised to make a breakthrough here and move further up the rankings.
Forecast: Mensik in 2

Frances Tiafoe vs Roman Safiullin

Head-to-head: first meeting

Tiafoe had a fantastic US hardcourt season, but his level tends to be far higher on US soil than anywhere else in the world. That's why it's almost a 50/50 match despite the big difference in rankings. Safiullin has played well so far in Asia, where he did quite well last year, and has a very good chance of continuing his run here.
Forecast: Safiullin in 3

Novak Djokovic vs Flavio Cobolli

Head-to-head: first meeting

Cobolli had a very controversial game (due to Bernardes' big mistake) against Wawrinka to reach this stage, but Djokovic will take a big step up. Even if the Serb was hardly convincing after his gold medal in Paris, he is the most successful player in the history of this tournament and is always very difficult to beat in these conditions.
Forecast: Djokovic in 2
