Former President Donald Trump's luxury Florida properties, including his Mar-a-Lago Club and various golf resorts, are outside the expected impact zone of Hurricane Milton, the Category 5 storm that is expected to make landfall on Florida's Gulf Coast later this week becomes.

But the Sarasota offices of Trump Media, Truth Social's parent company, are directly in the storm's projected line of sight.

Mar-a-Lago, Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach and Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter are all in Palm Beach County. The Trump National Doral Miami is located in Miami-Dade County.

Both areas are outside the National Weather Service forecast cone for Milton, although those forecasts could change in the coming days.

Still, officials in both counties, which are also under flood watch, have declared a local state of emergency. Residents are encouraged to develop evacuation plans and have disaster equipment ready as Milton's planned path continues to evolve.

Meanwhile, the Truth Social offices are located directly in the zone where Milton is expected to make landfall on the Gulf Coast late Wednesday.

Trump is the largest shareholder of Trump mediaa listed company that primarily operates the Truth Social platform.

In an August filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the company said it reduced expenses in part by reducing rental costs. However, the most recent disclosure, filed Oct. 4, listed the Sarasota address and a telephone number in the area as the company's principal place of business.

Trump Media did not immediately respond to CNBC's questions about the office, how many employees work there, how often, and how the company is preparing for Milton. The former president does not own the office property in Sarasota himself.

Milton is currently building in the Gulf of Mexico, increasing in strength by the hour and maintaining winds of 175 mph. It is expected to make landfall in Florida on Wednesday.

“Time is running out,” Keith Turi, deputy director for response and recovery at the Federal Emergency Management Agency, said in a call with reporters Monday. “Today and tomorrow are still the days when you have to prepare for the landing.”

Although Trump's Florida properties appear to be safe so far, the storm has already disrupted some of his campaign plans.

The Republican presidential candidate was scheduled to tape a town hall meeting with Univision, a major Spanish-language television network, in Miami on Tuesday. But as Milton stepped up, the campaign decided to postpone the taping until next Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Trump's Democratic opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, will tap her own Univision town hall in Nevada on Thursday.

Milton is expected to hit the southeastern United States late Wednesday following Hurricane Helene, the Category 4 storm that hit Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee.
