There is a lot of enthusiasm and anticipation for the film and it has received good response after the trailer was released. The film has already grossed $500,000 in advance sales and trade analysts expect the film to gross Rs 125 crore worldwide on the first day of its release. Due to the Dussehra holidays, the film is expected to gross over Rs 250 crore at the global box office in its first weekend. Fans and film audiences are excited to see Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth together on screen after three decades. While superstar Rajinikanth plays the encounter specialist, Amitabh Bachchan plays the vigilante and technically compete against each other, which would be amazing to watch.

The film was U/A certified with a runtime of 2 hours, 43 minutes and 25 seconds (163 minutes). The makers have sold the satellite rights to a leading Tamil network channel for Rs 65 crore and the digital rights of the film were sold for Rs 90 crore. The film will be released on national OTT platform Amazon Prime Video after the film runs in theaters for a month.

According to Sacnilk, over 4 lakh tickets were sold in Tamil Nadu, 19,000 tickets in Telugu and 9,9300 in Hindi on the first day. The film is said to have grossed a total of Rs 10 crore in advance bookings. However, compared to Rajinikanth's previous and last film Jailer, the film grossed Rs 18 crore before release, which was three times more than Vettaiyan. The Rajinikanth starrer has created quite a lack of buzz this time even compared to Vijay's GOAT which hit theaters last month.
