Rachel Sennot talks about her experiences working on the SNL film; Claims she was relaxed for the first time

Rachel Sennot has been signed to play the role of Rosie Shuster in the upcoming SNL film. The actress spoke about her experience on set and how she coped with the script and schedules. Speaking to People Magazine, Sennot recalled speaking to the character she plays and felt that it was one of the “chillest” characters she had ever played in her career.

Rosie Shuster wrote the first episode of SNL in 1975 and was the wife of showrunner Lorne Michaels at the time. Speaking to the entertainment portal, the actress mentioned about the former SNL writer: “I've spoken to Rosie and she's great.” She further added: “She's so cool and smart and funny and I think I'll become her meeting in person for the first time at the premiere.”

Sennot further explained that she still felt a sense of pressure when speaking to the screenwriter on the phone. But when the duo met in person, the actress claimed that Shuster was a cool, smart and funny person. The Finally Dawn actress shared: “Just talking to her on the phone, there’s obviously still pressure. But more than anything, I was just excited. Because I wanted everyone to know (about her).”

Sennot will play an important role in the film as she portrays a person who usually stays behind the scenes but still deserves major credit for popularizing the concept of comedy sketches. She also contributed significantly to the success of the show.

While talking about her experience in films, the actress said, “This is the first time I am chilling in a film. I'm never chill. I always have a panic attack. And in real life I'm always relaxed.” having a panic attack.

She further revealed: “It's so liberating to step into someone's shoes who are so confident and in control. And so I hope she likes it and feels seen. But I just wanted to share her story with people because I feel like she's an integral part of making SNL what it is today.”

The SNL movie is scheduled to hit theaters on October 11th.
