Vettaiyan's Twitter Reactions: Director TJ Gnanavel's next film, Vettaiyan, after the hugely successful 2021 Suriya starrer Jai Bhim, hit theaters on October 10. The film starring Rajinikanth, Manju Warrier, Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati and Ritika Singh in the lead roles, most people on X (formerly Twitter) praised the cast and filmmaking while others found it disappointing. “No compromise on Rajinism”

“Crowd scenes fail”

Despite the good performances, not everyone was impressed with Vettaiyan. A fan wrote that it wasn't Jailer and that the crowd scenes were “stalling” and wrote, “Not a normal #Rajinikanth film, it's more of a Gnanavel film.” The content is good but most of the crowd scenes fail . #FahadhFaasil, the show stealer. The Rajini-Fafa combo scenes were refreshing. It’s worth seeing in the cinema, but don’t expect a prison guard.”

One person called it “subpar” and claimed that the film was still “formulaic and predictable” despite the “relevant message” it explores. They added: “Lazy production and a lackluster script could easily ruin everything that was supposed to be good in the film, including the superstar.” You have to be a well-researched fan of his to use him well these days. Another said the first half was a “pure Thalaivar show” despite the predictable plot and praised Fahadh's performance. They added that the film goes downhill in the second half, summing it up by saying, “Absolutely unique viewing/average.”
