Trump will hold a rally at New York's Madison Square Garden before Election Day

Former President Trump will hold a rally at New York's Madison Square Garden (MSG) this month, Fox News Digital has confirmed.

The rally is scheduled to take place on October 27, multiple sources told Fox News Digital, just nine days before Election Day.

The event is expected to be on a first-come, first-served basis, and campaign officials expect a large turnout.

“As with Coachella and others to come, MSG is adding some very large venues because we are seeing very strong interest in attending events,” a campaign source told Fox News Digital.

MSG is a 19,500-seat venue.

The former president emphasized later Wednesday at a campaign rally in Scranton, Pennsylvania, that “we just rented Madison Square Garden. We're going to do a play. We’re going to do a play for New York.” That hasn’t been done in a long time. It hasn't been done for many decades.

Then-President Ronald Reagan was the last Republican to win New York in a race for the White House in his landslide re-election in 1984.

“We play for New Jersey. We play for Virginia,” Trump continued, adding that he also plans to run in Minnesota and New Mexico.

The latest Fox News Power Ranking for the 2024 presidential election ranks New York and New Jersey as solid Democrats, and Minnesota, New Mexico and Virginia as likely Democrats.

This will be Trump's second major rally in New York state.

Last month, Trump held a rally at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, Long Island. More than 60,000 tickets were requested, but the venue only seats 16,000. Thousands of fans who were not allowed into the venue watched his speech on large screens outside.

Meanwhile, Trump has drawn large crowds at his recent rallies, with more than 20,000 people attending his second rally in Butler, Pennsylvania over the weekend.

The campaign also said it saw more than 100,000 people at the former president's May rally in Wildwood, New Jersey.

“We will attack – firstly you have to stop crime and we will let the police do their job. She needs to get her authority back. She has to be able to do her job,” Trump said. “And we're going to come to New York. We're doing a big job for New York and for other cities too. But this city, I love this city.”

Trump said New York “has gotten so bad in the last three, four years.”

“And we will fix New York. So if we run for president, we'll have a big win in New York – we could win New York,” Trump said.

The New York Post first reported that Trump would gather at MSG.

While deep blue New York is unlikely to turn red in the race for the White House, another rally in the state could help Republicans get on the ballot as they try to retain their House majority in November's election .
