While driving in the pouring rain, Doherty was broadcasting live on the Kick train platform when he lost control of the car and crashed into a railing. Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) is currently investigating the accident.

Doherty's reckless behavior, including apparently using his phone while driving, led to his ban from Kick. The footage showed his friend Michael David, who was sitting in the passenger seat, bleeding from his face.

Doherty “begging” for what, new McLaren?

Instead of tending to his injured friend, Doherty held a camera at him and told him to “film.”

Seeing that viewers were horrified by the YouTuber's reaction, Doherty posted a shirtless picture of himself standing next to the wreckage of his McLaren on Instagram, which many found incredibly “inappropriate.”

Just days after the ban, Doherty took to TikTok and “begged” for support, encouraging fans to send him gifts and donations. During a TikTok livestream, he encouraged viewers to double-tap the screen and send him “galaxies,” a form of TikTok currency. He promised to follow everyone who contributed and said: “Thank you everyone.”

Doherty's attempt to engage his supporters financially after the crash failed

One person commented: “Begging for money then saying 'you've never driven a McLaren' is crazy lmao,” while another added: “Why does this weird ass kid still have a platform?”

Viewers found his attitude tone-deaf, particularly when Doherty said of the crash: “I was literally flying on a seaplane.” I'm sitting in a McLaren in the pouring rain, what do you expect? You’ve never driven a McLaren before.”

“'Driving in the rain, what do you expect?' he left out 'on my phone,'” one user criticized the streamer.

Doherty's older brother Michael also spoke out, claiming Jack wasn't distracted by his phone during the accident. He explained that Jack had been on the phone “about a minute or two earlier” and blamed him: “McLarens are pretty notorious for getting out of control… He floatplaned into the barrier and somehow closed greatly corrects what is someone’s first instinct.”
