Ratan Tata's ex-girlfriend Simi Garewal mourns his loss and writes an emotional farewell note:

Industrialist Rata Tata died on Wednesday evening at the age of 86. His funeral will take place on Thursday, October 10 and the Maharashtra government will accord him a state funeral, CM Eknath Shinde announced.
The country's citizens are deeply saddened and most feel it as a personal loss due to his unprecedented work in bringing the Tata Group to a global platform, his philanthropic work and much more.Tata touched many lives and inspired many. Since many celebrities also mourned his loss, his ex-girlfriend Simi Garewal also said an emotional goodbye to him.

For those who don't know, Simi had admitted to dating him for a short period of time. They later parted ways but remained very close friends. In an interview in 2011, she had said, “Ratan and I have a long history. He is perfect, he has a sense of humor, is humble and the perfect gentleman. Money was never his driving force. He is not as relaxed in India as he is abroad.
Tata had once appeared on Simi's chat show and revealed a few times that he was about to get married but never got married.
She had also spoken about him once in a description she wrote on her YouTube channel for her show 'Rendezvous with Simi Garewal': 'Ratan Tata was my first boyfriend in Mumbai. We had both just returned from abroad in terra incognita.” ; both on the threshold of an unknown world that lay before us, Ratan's inner personality had not changed: still shy, still reserved, but always articulate. At work, he is a corporate visionary; away from the office he is a recluse.”
Simi had also said that it was a great pleasure to have him on her show. “For a man who stays away from the flashlight of fame, it was generous of Ratan to be my first-ever guest on Rendezvous with Simi Garewal. Few had seen Ratan back then and I remember he gained a lot of admirers! Gosh “I remember him shaking hands with each of them before he left – in his Maruti,” Simi said.
Many other celebrities like Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Alia Bhatt have expressed their sadness over Tata's death as he left a mark on everyone with his inspiring life.
