Whenever a major hurricane is announced for Florida, the entire nation wonders: Will Disney World stay open?

Hurricane Milton is expected to make landfall along the central Gulf Coast between 11 p.m. October 9 and 2 a.m. October 10. Forecasters indicate the Tampa Bay region.

Is Disney World in Orlando closed due to Hurricane Milton?

On Wednesday, October 9th, the theme parks and Disney Springs will begin a phased closure starting at 1:00 p.m. ET:

  • Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park close at 1:00 p.m
  • Magic Kingdom, EPCOT and Disney Springs close at 2:00 p.m

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom Park is also canceled for Thursday, October 10th. Event tickets will be refunded.

They previously made some adjustments based on the latest weather forecast and some areas with unique environments:

  • Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground (including dining and recreational facilities), the Copper Creek Cabins at Disney's Wilderness Lodge and the Treehouse Villas at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa will close beginning Wednesday, October 9th at 11 a.m. and may remain closed through Sunday .
  • Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and the Treehouse Villas at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa are scheduled to remain closed through Sunday, October 13th.
  • Copper Creek Cabins at Disney's Wilderness Lodge is scheduled to reopen on Friday, October 11th.

Officials have not announced a reopening date; They said the theme parks will likely remain closed on Thursday, October 10. Disney said it is considering opening Disney Springs in the late afternoon with limited offerings.
