Latest fast food releases with cheese treats for October and more

October starts off on a cheesy note with new and returning items from various fast food brands. In the meantime, a new snack companion will shake up your snacking routine.

It seems that this month is the perfect time for cheese lovers to seek out new treats. Sometimes nothing can soothe your senses like the taste and texture of gooey cheese. Time to put aside the classics like mac and cheese and grilled cheese sandwiches. We have treats with grated, smoked and golden baked cheese ready for you! Treat yourself to these new additions from the following fast food restaurants:

Taco Bell

Taco Bell is bringing back an item that has been popular since 1995: the Double Decker Taco. While it's not exactly a cheesy treat, the shredded cheese included in the tacos adds a nice, savory touch. The Double Decker Taco returns to Taco Bell menus October 10, 2024. What's special about this item is that the taco shell is wrapped with a tortilla filled with beans. In the taco you will also find crisp lettuce, seasoned beef and of course the shredded cheddar cheese.

If that sounds like a treat, wait until you try the Double Decker Taco Supreme. It contains all the previously mentioned ingredients, but with the addition of diced tomatoes and low-fat sour cream. This variant also returns along with the standard Double Decker Taco. Both items will be available at participating Taco Bell locations nationwide, and fans are excited because they no longer have to “hack away” to purchase a Double Decker Taco. As expected, the new items will only be up for grabs for a limited time, so be there when they release!

Jimmy John's

Let's move on to something you can already have when you have a cheese craving. Introducing Jimmy John's Smoked Cheddar Bourbon Club. After hearing that it has prime meat and a smooth bourbon sauce, I'm pretty sold! In addition to the “top notch sauce,” the smoked cheddar is also a star of this sandwich. Imagine the firm and creamy cheese that exudes a great balance of savory and smoky flavors. And let's not forget the meat, as there are several options to choose from.

The Smoked Cheddar Bourbon Club is available in two versions: Roast beef with bacon and turkey with bacon. Whether you choose roast beef or turkey, expect a layer of crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, tomato, smoked cheddar cheese, mayonnaise and the new creamy Sriracha bourbon sauce. These ingredients come together on freshly baked French bread, with the entire sandwich starting at 590 calories. This is also a limited-time offer available at all participating locations. As for the prices, the regular size Smoked Cheddar Bourbon Club would cost around $9.69 while the Giant is worth $17.79. Prices may vary depending on location.

Culvers

A legend also returns to Culver's menus October 15, 2024just in time for National Cheese Curd Day. The CurderBurger will be here again for a limited time to delight the taste buds of cheese lovers. The fan-favorite item returns for the fourth time since its inception as an April Fool's joke in 2021. That same year, due to popular demand, Culver's realized the burger and made it available for one day only, National Cheese Curd Day. The CurderBurger was such a hit that some restaurants sold out within two hours.

For those who don't know, the CurderBurger contains two patties (or so it looks). The first is a never frozen beef patty and on top is the golden baked cheese crown. It is a mix of white and yellow cheddar cheeses coated in seasoned and crunchy breadcrumbs. They are served in toasted butter buns, along with tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, sweet red onions and the signature mayo.

If there is a returned item, there is also a new one; Culver likes to cause such a stir! Also on the menu October 15th is this Hot honey cheese curds. This new product features crispy golden fried Wisconsin cheese curds with hot honey breading and offers a touch of delicious sweet heat! Both the Hot Honey Cheese Curds and CurderBurger will be available through October 31, 2024 or while stocks last.

October is about to get cheesy with all these goodies! I love seeing iconic menu items come back and I'm really excited for CurderBurger's return. Cheeseburgers have a special place in my heart and I have to say that CurderBurger is one of the most unique cheeseburger variants I have ever seen. In any case, the introduction of Dip 'N Sip is good news for me too, as I almost always order my pretzels with dip and a drink. I bet this will be handy to have with you and much better if Aunt Anne's has a reusable one!
