Presley — who died in January 2023 at age 54 — spoke candidly about her abortion, losing her virginity, trapping her husband and more in her posthumous memoir. From here to the great unknown.

In the posthumous memoir, Presley talks about the time she first became pregnant with her then-boyfriend Danny Keough, who she eventually married.

“When I first got pregnant, I didn’t even know it,” Lisa Marie wrote in her memoir E! News. “During the first four months we were together, I ended up in the emergency room in terrible pain and they rushed me into surgery.” At the time, the singer said that doctors thought she had a problem with her appendix, but she did after the operation she was told that it was an ectopic pregnancy. According to the Mayo Clinic, an ectopic pregnancy occurs when a fertilized egg implants and grows outside the main cavity of the uterus.

“I ended up having an abortion,” she wrote. “And it was the stupidest thing I've ever done in my life. I was devastated.”

She revealed that she had “never gotten pregnant with someone else,” although she was “just as sloppy” as she didn't use contraception. The “Shine” singer recalled that after the procedure, she and Danny “were both destroyed and not long after, they fell apart and broke up.” I couldn’t live with myself.”

Presley also wrote about how she was “so upset” with herself that she was “planning” and “scheming” to get pregnant again.

“I found out exactly when I was ovulating,” she wrote. When she visited Danny one evening, she didn't tell him that she hoped to have a child.

Two weeks after spending the night with Danny, she found out she was pregnant and the couple married shortly afterwards.

“Danny knew he had to marry me,” she wrote. Presley was pregnant at the time with her firstborn, Riley, who was born in May 1989.

She added that she “set a trap” for him – writing, “I didn't really mean to but I did it,” per Page Six.

Along with Riley, the couple welcomed a son Benjamin Keough in October 1992, before their divorce in 1994. Their son died by suicide in 2020.

Riley, now 35, said in September that Lisa Marie died of illness “broken heart” after the loss of her son.

The late Presley was also mother to her now 16-year-old twin daughters, Harper and Finley Lockwood, whom she shared with her fourth husband, Michael Lockwood. She was previously married to Michael Jackson from 1994 to 1996 and to Nicolas Cage from 2002 to 2004.

Presley lost her virginity at age 14 to a 23-year-old man, whom she did not name in the memoir.

She met him in the Bahamas and he played a “small role” in a film that starred her mother, Priscilla Presley.

“I had a bad fall,” she remembers Us weekly. The man, who was nine years her senior, was “understandably terrible” about entering into a relationship with Presley. In her memoir, Presley recalled “upping the pills” after leaving the Church of Scientology TODAY.

“I thought, 'Oh my God, I've lost my religion and it's my only sidewalk to walk on, my surrogate family.' “Everything was gone – all my friends, everything,” she wrote TODAY. “I knew it was over. And I was so devastated that I used the medication as a coping strategy.”

Keough also noted that her mother was “drinking more.”
