High Potential's Morgan has made good progress with her partner, but I want to see more from Kaitlin Olson and her SNL Vet co-star

Spoilers ahead for episode 3 of ABC High potentialcalled “Dirty Rotten Scoundrel”.

High potential returned to ABC in the 2024 TV program after a week's break, with Morgan (Kaitlin Olson) is preparing for her consulting work with the LAPD. This time, despite a case that included numerous murders and misdirections, Morgan made some progress with her unofficial LAPD partner Karadec (Daniel Sunjata), that was sweet in the truest sense of the word. She decided that he was “just a normal police robot” and not a heartless one, and left him a slice of apple, which was a big step for the two of them. Still, I wanted to see more of Morgan and Ludoplayed by Saturday Night Live alum Taran Killam.

I actually surprised myself when I realized that I especially wanted to see more scenes between Morgan and Ludo, since the actors of both characters are far more known for their comedy than their drama It's always sunny in Philadelphia for Olson and SNL followed by Single parents for Killam. I didn't expect her dramatic work to really get me invested in her characters' relationship in the show's third episode, and it's all thanks to Morgan actually apologizing to her ex. (So far, you can stream all three episodes with a Hulu subscription.)

Of course, Ludo deserved an apology, and not just because Morgan's temporary termination of her job meant the end of his job as a husband to their three children. Morgan panicked when she learned that the Ludo had relented Ava Allowing Ludo to take in a boy throws in Ludo's face that he is not really her father as he is Elliott's and baby Chloe'S. Previous episodes of the series have shown that he has been like a father to Ava over the years, so it's no surprise that he was upset by Morgan's comment.

Plus, his move to leave the house strikes me as evidence of why the two can be friends and co-parents, but not necessarily romantic partners anymore. It was a well-acted dramatic scene from the two notoriously comedic actors, followed by an apology scene that I immediately wanted to rewind. After all, apologies and truly adult conversations are rarely guaranteed in prime time. Morgan told him:

I just wanted to tell you personally that I'm really sorry for what I said to you the other night. You are the closest thing Ava has to a father and we are all truly lucky to have you in our lives.

Ludo thanked her and the two sat down to fold laundry and talk about why she needed to get her job back with the LAPD. It was just a nice scene that followed an intense argument, and I appreciate a home scene for Morgan that breaks up the more procedural casework. Kaitlin Olson and Taran Killam bring just enough humor without turning the dramatic elements into comedy, and I'd just like to see more of it.

The promo for the next episode doesn't hint at any scenes between the actors, although it appears Morgan will get her wish by getting a badge… sort of. Take a look:
