Thursday Night Football on Prime Video: Seahawks vs. 49ers game thread in the 1st quarter

It has been three seasons since the Seattle Seahawks last won over the San Francisco 49ers, and four seasons since the Seahawks finished above the 49ers in the standings. This used to be one of the biggest rivalries in the NFL, then it became one-sided in Seattle's favor, and now it's San Francisco's turn to dominate the series.

Neither Seattle nor San Francisco have won against an NFC opponent this season, and barring a tie, it's over tonight. The Seahawks are healthy on offense (except at right tackle) but are struggling on defense. We know the 49ers are struggling offensively and defensively, but on paper they are the better team. This is Mike Macdonald's first big test, albeit on a short week and as a home underdog. Win and all the bad feelings from two weeks ago are almost gone. Lose? A long wait until an early kickoff away game against the Atlanta Falcons.

Maybe those sweet, sweet setbacks in the 1990s will give the Seahawks a boost.
