Charlie XCX performs at Storm King Art Center

Charli XCX's brat The tour makes an unexpected stop this Thursday at the Storm King Art Center, a popular sculpture park in New York's Hudson Valley.

“Nyyyyyyy, I want to play my new album 🙂 Should we go upstate?” the pop star asked her 6.4 million Instagram followers on Tuesday. The post was accompanied by a link that led to a minimal (and predictably green) web registration for a 3 p.m. DJ set — their new album, played in its entirety — at the popular Sculpture Park in New Windsor.

Please note the fine print: RSVP does not guarantee participation. An email will be sent to confirmed guests. So stay alert (and according to event conditions, please be at least 18 years old).

This is all the information provided. One can only guess where in the 500-acre open-air museum Charli will make his rounds – perhaps on one of the rolling hills that overlook a collection that includes two colossal steel abstractions by Mark di Suvero and 18 sky-high sculptures by Alexander Calder belong.

Aside from the cool beats, the event is a great opportunity to check out Arlene Shechet's latest works currently installed on the Storm King site. Romantically and materially robust, structurally unyielding but painted in a varyingly glossy and matte palette of baby blue, fire orange and electric blue, these new sculptures were intended to provide a beautiful backdrop for Charli XCX's music.
