The Dallas Mavericks play their second preseason game on Thursday night when they host the Utah Jazz in Texas.

The Mavs are expected to have newcomer Klay Thompson in the starting lineup for the game.

Thompson is coming off a year in which he averaged 17.9 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game while shooting 43.2% from the field and 38.7% in 77 games for the Golden State Warriors. shot from three-point range.

The Mavs finished last season as the fifth seed in the Western Conference with a record of 50-32.
