Oscar winner Jessica Chastain is facing harsh criticism on social media after she slammed JetBlue over a $15 credit toward her in-flight entertainment.

The 47-year-old “Zero Dark Thirty” actress spoke out on X (formerly Twitter) in a now-deleted post after her “in-flight entertainment system” malfunctioned during a six-hour flight.

“Thank you @JetBlue for your $15.00 credit. “My flight cost $1,500 and the credit is 1/100th of the money I paid you,” Chastain’s deleted tweet said Wednesday. “Strange that I paid that for your in-flight entertainment system that didn’t work during my 6 hour flight, but I think it was worth it for that $15 credit.”

The star made sure to include her receipt with the tweet — and that's not all.

After JetBlue apologized to Chastain via X, he wrote, “We're sorry you're disappointed, Jessica. Please DM us so we can look into it,” the actress did just that, adding a screenshot of the conversation she had already had with the airline’s customer service.

When the service agent informed Chastain that she had been given the $15 credit, she responded, “I understand, but I spent $1,500 on the flight and so did my husband. There should be some flight credit or something since I have a TrueBlue account and am a loyal customer.”

While the Molly's Game actress called for more to be done, the agent told her: “I'm sorry I can't do more.”

Chastain's complaints drew criticism from online sleuths, who criticized the actress – who recently listed her New York home for $7.45 million – for publicly speaking out against the airline. Many accused her of being “tone deaf” considering many Floridians lost everything in Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton.

“Read the room,” one X user replied. “Jessica Chastain is so embarrassing,” another responded. A third joked that “the furor over an airline and its vilification on social media” made Chastain “our modern-day Princess Di.”

But not everyone reacted negatively to Chastain's tweets. Some users have stood up for the star.

Author Louis Peitzman wrote: “Many of you would be tweeting just like Jessica Chastain if you were at her level of fame. I know that in my soul.”

Another person said it was “good to see a celebrity publicly complaining” and claimed: “Airlines have absolutely no responsibility when it comes to customer service, experience or even the basics like PUNCTUALITY.”
