A California lottery player made a big splash with a Powerball ticket worth more than $2 million, state lottery officials announced Thursday. But don't worry, if that's not the case, you can try your luck at the jackpot in the next draw, which has increased by more than 150 times.

California Lottery officials said the winning ticket from Wednesday's drawing matched five numbers: 25, 32, 43, 53 and 66.

But he failed to reach Powerball number 10.

The ticket was purchased from the Primm Valley Lotto Store in Nipton, San Bernardino County.

Officials said no one in any state got all six numbers correctly, meaning the jackpot in Saturday's drawing is expected to rise to $364 million.

Powerball is a multi-state game played in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

A single ticket costs $2.

The drawings take place three times a week: Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 7:59 p.m. Card entry must be submitted by 7:00 p.m

The largest Powerball jackpot ever was $2.04 billion, sold in California in 2022.

The odds of hitting the jackpot are about one in about 292 million. To put it in perspective, you are almost 20,000 more likely to be struck by lightning.

This story was reported from Oakland, California.
