Lee Corso receives congratulations from Pat McAfee and Rece Davis on ESPN College GameDay

ESPN College GameDay is over Oregon The Ducks' showdown against the Big Ten takes place on Saturday morning Ohio State. Eugene, Oregon is one of Lee Corso's favorite locations, but unfortunately the College GameDay personality will not be able to attend this week's show as he is still ill.

Rece Davis and Pat McAfee opened ESPN College GameDay on Saturday with well wishes to Lee Corso.

“Lee Corso, I hope he’ll be back with us soon. I spoke to LC this week. He wants to send greetings to his very good friend the duck,” Rece Davis said. “And the other thing, Pat, he needs to have compassion and be loving and see what this crowd here in Oregon is about.”

This is the second show in a row that Lee Corso has missed as he was also unable to attend Cal last week when the Bears hosted Miami.

Pat McAfee said he can't wait for Corso to be back on the show soon.

“You know, Coach Corso, obviously we can't wait for him to get back, but today is a day he would love,” McAfee said. “We have a huge Big Ten battle between two giants of the Big Ten Conference.”

Rece Davis also provided an update on Corso while speaking to the media in Oregon on Friday.

“He won’t be here this week. He's doing better. “He’s been a little under the weather the last few weeks,” Davis said. “I spoke to him earlier and he said he was sorry for missing his best friend the duck.”

Corso is 89 years old and is the only member of the show to serve as host since its inception in 1987.

After a stroke in 2009, Corso occasionally had to miss several weeks for health reasons. Nevertheless, these absences have become more frequent in recent years College game dayWe are doing our best to minimize Corso's difficulties.

Most notably, Corso completes every episode of College game day by predicting who will win the game of the week and donning the head of the mascot of the team of his choice. College fans across the country can only hope that Lee Corso gets better soon.
