NEW BERN, NC (WITN) – With sunny skies forecast for this weekend, New Bern is expected to be packed with crowds as thousands turn out for Mumfest.

Festival-goers aren't the only fans of the annual tradition, Mumfest artists are also enjoying the fun.

If music is more your thing, you're in luck. Mumfest event manager Ann Marie Byrd says there will be three main stages at Mumfest, with more than 15 bands playing throughout the weekend.

This also includes a singer who has taken part in Mumfest in the past.

“I think we’ve been performing at Mumfest for three years now. “Last year we were very lucky to open for Sugar Ray in the big concert, which was so much fun,” says Bridge Atlantic singer Erika Butters.

Butters and Bridge Atlantic will perform with their band in the beer garden on Saturday from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Butters also says she loves performing at Mumfest because of the welcoming community.

“It's just that there's a great feeling of home here and it's just beautiful,” says Butters.

Byrd also mentions that this year's Mumfest will have something for everyone, including a brand new addition to the festival.

“We have the Pro Town BMX show coming up as well as the Purina dog show and the Cainine dog show. We have something new this year that we've never had before. “We bring acrobats from Kenya,” says Byrd.

Mumfest takes place on October 12th and 13th. WITN is a proud sponsor.
