Bruno Fernandes wants to find his goalscoring form again for Manchester United

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes says he takes responsibility for his recent goal failures and is determined to get back to his best as quickly as possible.

The 30-year-old midfielder has gone 15 club games without scoring for United, a run that dates back to April.

Ahead of Portugal's Nations League game against Poland on Saturday, Fernandes admitted that he had not lived up to his own standards.

“As far as the club is concerned, I want to improve once I get there and make sure the goals start coming again,” Fernandes said, according to Reuters.

“I have to take responsibility for that too, because I'm a midfielder who scores a lot of goals, and over the years I've always been at a very high level in terms of goals, and I have to live up to that.”, with these Expectations.”

Despite United's struggles in front of goal this season – they have scored just five goals in the Premier League, the second-worst record in the division overall – Fernandes remains focused on turning things around both personally and for the team .

“I also have my own demands, I don’t hold back,” he added. “I haven’t scored a goal for the club yet and I hope that once I get there I can score and help the club get back on the road to success and a good level.”

Fernandes' record at United has been impressive since joining in 2020: 79 goals and 70 assists in 244 appearances. However, he has yet to find success this season as United sit in 14th place with just eight points from their first seven games – their worst start in the Premier League era.

United will look to improve on their exploits when they host Brentford on October 19.
