Washington Capitals vs. New Jersey Devils at Capital One Arena (home opener)

Washington Capitals vs. New Jersey Devils at Capital One Arena (home opener)

The Washington Capitals are finally playing an important game this fall. After having to wait the longest of any team in the league to start the 2024-25 season, the Capitals are officially ready to get things started.

Washington will start the year against a New Jersey Devils team that is playing its fourth game of the season because the NHL schedule is bizarre and never makes sense. New Jersey is coming off its first loss of the season, a 4-2 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday night.

The Capitals-Devils game can be watched on Monumental Sports Network. The puck drop takes place shortly after 7 p.m. Joe Beninati and Craig Laughlin have the call.

Tonight we're covering TWO ice hockey games. Katie Adler is at Capital One Arena for this game, while Ian Oland is in Hershey for the Bears' banner-raising night. Should be fun.
