Bo Nix appears to be doing a good job of ingratiating himself with the Denver Broncos coaching staff, including head coach Sean Payton.

According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, the Broncos' coaches “loved” the heated exchange between Nix and Payton in the third quarter of their 34-18 win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Oct. 6.

Russini noted that the situation stemmed from Payton calling a play that Nix changed, resulting in his coach getting on him.

The play Nix called should have resulted in a 45-yard touchdown on third-and-3 as Troy Franklin was wide open in the end zone, but Franklin was unable to field the ball and the Broncos opted out for a punt on fourth down.

Both men had different stories after the game about what was actually said on the sidelines. Nothing joked They both said they love each other. Payton tried to make a Ferris Bueller analogy that didn't quite pan out, but you applaud him for trying.

Nix then used clips from Ferris Bueller's day off on his Instagram Stories as part of his recap of the game.

According to Russini, another AFC West coach praised the highlights Nix included in the video because they were “primarily plays by his teammates on both sides of the ball.”

Nix is still learning on the job, but his performance so far has been encouraging. The win over the Raiders marked his first game with multiple touchdown passes. He also made 70.4 percent of his attempts to win, the highest of his career.

Denver has won three straight games after an 0-2 start. Nix will look to keep the positive momentum going on Sunday when the Broncos host the Los Angeles Chargers, with the winner sole owner of second place in the AFC West.
