It's time for basketball*: Spurs vs. Jazz

Welcome to the game thread. Veterans of the game thread know how we operate here, but for anyone new, we have a few rules. Our Community Guidelines Apply and basically say: Be cool, no personal attacks, don't troll, and don't curse too much.

The Jazz are 3-0 so far in the preseason, with wins over the New Zealand Breakers, the Rockets and the Mavericks. Luka Doncic took the night off against the Jazz, which I don't think will be the case on Opening Day when the Spurs play the Mavs, so the undefeated record may not be as impressive as it looks. The Jazz are still much improved from last year and could be in the mix for a play-in slot this year.

The Spurs played their starters for the first time against the Magic on Wednesday, and after a slow start, the Silver and Black won easily as the reserves took over late. Victor Wembanyama didn't have his best game on Wednesday, but he's capable of dominating the game even when he's not playing well. With the regular season less than two weeks away, it would be nice to see him play 15-20 minutes tonight and develop a rhythm on offense that was missing against the Magic. Afterwards, Spurs fans can relax as fan favorites like Sandro Mamukelashvili take over the game and Stephon shows he's already ready to make big bets this season. Let's tune in and watch and remember that it's not the score that counts, but the performances of the players.

* Preseason basketball

Match prediction:

Stephon Castle throws 25 free throws and fouls three Jazz players.

A final word:

Go Spurs GOOOOOO!!
