In London, the Bears celebrate the TD with a tea time

LONDON – A touchdown meant tea time.

The Bears celebrated a third-quarter goal at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday with the most British celebration possible. As Keenan Allen stood up after a nine-yard touchdown catch, he motioned for his teammates to rush him. They sat cross-legged in a circle in the end zone, pretending to drink tea. They started drinking — first receiver DJ Moore, then Allen, then the offensive linemen. Some even had their little fingers outstretched.

Moore hinted at the celebration when asked this week if he had anything special planned.

“We talked about it… between me, Keenan and. (Running back DeAndre Swift),” he said. “We have to think of something.”

The catch on third down was Allen's first touchdown as a Bear. The team sent a fourth-round pick to the Chargers for him in March. It gave quarterback Caleb Williams three passing touchdowns in a game, something neither Mitch Trubisky nor Justin Fields ever accomplished as rookies.

Cole Kmet of the Chicago Bears scores a touchdown under pressure from Montaric Brown of the Jacksonville Jaguars during the NFL game between the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Chicago Bears at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on October 13, 2024 in London, England.

Kmet also takes over at long snapper duty after Scott Daly left the game with a knee injury.
