Is Austin Ekeler or Jeremy McNichols the better play in Week 6?

Is Austin Ekeler or Jeremy McNichols the better play in Week 6?

Alex Hunter will destroy the Commanders' backfield if RB Brian Robinson Jr. is out in Week 6.

Missed training on Thursday for the second day in a row Robinson Jr. ($6,400) is leaning toward missing Sunday's game against the Ravens.

If that is the case in the end, Ekeler ($5,600) And Jeremy McNichols ($4,500) Both will see more work for the Commanders, with Ekeler being the better option between the two.

In snap percentage among Commanders' backs this season, Ekeler ranks second behind Robinson Jr. at 42%, while McNichols has played just 19.5% of the snaps. Ekeler and McNichols are close in runs scored at 19-16 each, but most of McNichols' work came in garbage time when Washington shut out its opponent. For some perspective, the defenseman has recorded eight and seven runs in the last two weeks, but in both games the Commanders won by more than 20 points, and 11 of those 15 runs for McNichols came in the second half of those contests.

Ekeler should have the upper hand on rushes when Robinson sits – Ekeler is averaging a career-best 7.9 yards per carry this season – and also have the edge in the passing game. Ekeler has always been a key receiver throughout his career, and this season was no different: He scored on 20% of his tackles this season, while McNichols only scored once on his 18 tackles.

Ekeler, who has the second-highest point total of Week 6 with 51.5 points at DraftKings Sportsbook, will have a fantastic ceiling when Robinson sits this Sunday, and he will be the clear choice between him and McNichols.
