Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Chicago Bears odds, expert tips, how to watch: Caleb Williams and Trevor Lawrence face off in London

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Chicago Bears odds, expert tips, how to watch: Caleb Williams and Trevor Lawrence face off in London

Thanks to an offense that appears to be working, the Chicago Bears are on a two-game winning streak and will travel to their first London game since 2019 in Week 6 as favorites against Jacksonville. And that's despite the fact that Jacksonville has at least home advantage to be as close as possible. Sunday is their twelfth game in London and they are likely to be the crowd favorite as they claim their first win of the season.

Chicago's self-confidence is based on an increasingly strong defense and a significant increase in their own offensive tempo. The Bears have the second-most no-huddle plays in the league behind Washington and are third in total plays. This suits rookie Caleb Williams, who has thrived in the short passing game, increasing his passer rating by 20 points when he gets the ball out quickly (under 2.5 seconds) this season. Jacksonville has an extremely soft pass defense and is unable to exploit the young quarterback's weaknesses.

Williams struggles with intermediate and deep routes and is particularly bad when pressured. But the Jaguars are in the bottom three against these passes and worst in the league when an opposing quarterback is under pressure. Quarterbacks actually have a positive EPA when pressured by Jacksonville.

Conversely, Chicago's pass defense is the best in the NFL when it applies pressure and suppresses all short- and mid-range pass attempts. The Jags have a credible running game with Travis Etienne and Tank Bigsby and the Bears are a run-funnel defense, so the early game plan should provide plenty of opportunities for both defenders. If Jacksonville can establish a rushing threat, it could open up the deep ball, where quarterback Trevor Lawrence is at his best.

All in all, the Under have scored in six straight London games. Given Chicago's stout defense and uncertainty about the offense's ability to score, this streak appears secure.
