PHILADELPHIA – All week, Browns coach Kevin Stefanski has insisted that Deshaun Watson is his starting quarterback, despite Watson's miserable start to the season.

Watson has been sacked 26 times in five games, by far the most in the NFL, and his passer rating of 74.8 is higher than only three current starting quarterbacks.

But the Eagles had trouble getting to the quarterback. Only the Falcons had fewer sacks than the Eagles had 6.

“Deshaun can play better,” Stefanski told reporters in Cleveland this week. “He will play better. He's had some obviously good moments and then there are times where we need to play better around him. But he strives to get better. We’re committed to putting our guys in a position to be successful.”

HAPPY RETURN: Eagles Injuries: Latest on AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith. Is the rookie starting after an “ugly” debut?

On the other side of the ball, the Eagles will be challenged by Browns edge rusher Myles Garrett. He will move around the defensive line, facing off against either left tackle Jordan Mailata or right tackle Lane Johnson, who returns after missing the Eagles' last game on Sept. 29 against Tampa Bay.

Garrett has 4 sacks and is on pace for his fourth straight season with at least 14 sacks. He is the only player to have at least that many sacks between 2021-23.

“I don’t have to say anything,” Mailata said of Garrett. “Turn on the movie, you can see it. It’s like a horror show out there.”

If Garrett puts on a horror show for Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, the returns of star wide receivers AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith won't mean much.

The Eagles' starting offensive line was back together in all three games before tight end Dallas Goedert went to the locker room with a hamstring injury.

The Eagles considered his return questionable.

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts attempted a throw to Goedert on 3rd-and-5 on the first possession. But Browns safety Rodney McLeod stopped the play on the sideline but appeared to collide with Goedert. He went into the medical tent while the Eagles punted and then went to the locker room.

This is the first time the Eagles have had everyone healthy for a game this season, so there are no big names out due to injury.

Veteran offensive lineman Nick Gates is among the inactives, meaning Pro Bowl left guard Landon Dickerson would take over the center position if Cam Jurgens is injured. The other inactives are QB Tanner McKee, CB Eli Ricks, OL Darian Kinnard, G Trevor Keegan and DT Byron Young.

The Browns' inactives include starting linebacker Jordan Hicks and safety Grant Delpit.

The Eagles are adding Parris Campbell to their 53-man roster

The Eagles added veteran wide receiver Parris Campbell to the roster on Saturday, a move they had to make if they wanted him on the roster come game day. That's because Campbell had already received the maximum of three game-day practice squad increases.

The Eagles had an open roster spot after releasing linebacker Devin White. Although the Eagles get Brown and Smith back, they are still missing a wide receiver with Britain Covey on the injured list.

Additionally, the Eagles awarded OL Jack Driscoll a practice squad designation.

The Eagles have three of their offensive stars returning: AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith and Lane Johnson. But somehow the Eagles are going to make it harder than it should be.
