Fantasy Game Changers: Players to Trust in Lions vs. Cowboys | Fantasy Football Live

The Yahoo Sports Fantasy Football Live team looks ahead to Sunday afternoon's game between Detroit and Dallas – and how Sam LaPorta, CeeDee Lamb and the Lions' backfield could impact fantasy managers.

Video transcript

Let's get to our fantasy game changers this week, powered by Ram Trucks.

Alright, here we identify some of the most influential players in one of the best fantasy matches on the schedule.

Highest total of the week this week, 52.5.

That means we're talking about Detroit, the guest appearance of the Dallas Cowboys, the Lions' renewed duel with the Cowboys 52.5.

The Lions had a lead of three.

So when I say fantasy game changer, Andy Barons, you say, “Oh, if you don't still consider Sam Laporta a game changer, then you never deserved Sam Laporta.”

That's how I feel.

Uh, he's still the incumbent tight end until someone knocks him over.

Okay, I realize he's been a little quiet, but let's remember that he missed time in camp due to an injury.

He struggled with an ankle problem during the season.

He's one game ahead of the buy he actually took part in.

His highest snap share was the highest route share of the season at 53 yards.

This came at just the right time for Laporta, I think he's obviously getting healthier.

Laporta was the second-most targeted tight end inside the 10-yard line last year, and I think some of those looks will come back at some point.

Detroit is always thrown to the tight end position when they end up near the goal line.

Dallas also has a weakened defense right now and they weren't playing particularly well before losing Parsons and Lawrence.

Um, so this is just a great breakout point for Laporta.

You still have a few minutes to shop this guy on the cheap before he gives us a good game and reminds everyone that he's back on top. Try it if you see bars on your bingo card that talk about Sam Laporta.

All right, Matt Harmon, give us who you've got is your fantasy game-changer.

Yeah, I mean, great.

That's sweet.

Sam Laporta, the whole thing.

We know what's going to happen with the Detroit Lions in this game and they're down, they're going to give the ball to their running backs over and over again.

They are currently one of the two best attacking players in the league.

Due to the high success rate, they extended David Montgomery last night.

What lovely news.

Uh, when you have David Montgomery as your fans, teams are going to be like, Oh man, one day they're just going to hand it all over to Jamir Gibbs.

Uh, no, they're not.

They will continue to give Dave Montgomery the ball because he is a cultural fit player.

Uh, as Andy mentioned, the Cowboys defense is broken.

Was 29th in rushing success rate not that good to begin with?

How can the lions not turn back?

Especially with Frank Rag.

Now they're in the middle of it, hitting or pushing, whatever it was.

Dan Campbell to show how healthy he was.

I mean, these are the Lions we're talking about here. We're talking guts to play the football, they'll run anywhere in Dallas State.

So both Lions running backs, Jamir gives Dave Montgomery, who they'll crush in fantasy today.

I don't know how I feel about Matt Harmon focusing on running backs.

The world is upside down, Tara.

Uh, give us your fantasy game changer.

You guys are obsessed with these lines and no one is talking about CD Lamb.

Now come on, CD Lamb, of course I talked about Jalen Tolbert early on, but while he's definitely fun, CD Lamb is still CD Lamb, the wide receiver, but the volume has been a little inconsistent this season, far from away from what we expected After last year's strong year, where Lamb was hyperactive, he was targeted at an insane rate as the Cowboys finally found their offensive rhythm.

But that could be the case again.

We're just waiting for the Cowboys to find their offensive rhythm.

This season was a disappointment, but things are about to turn around. We're willing to give it a little bit here in this offense and they face Detroit, it's a strong offense.

You just talked about it.

If there's a time for them to force feed and push volume through CD lamb, push volume through the air, this is the opportunity.

And we're talking about the Lions' defense, which is obviously, you know, strong.

But unfortunately, when the Lions aggressively score points, their defense suffers because teams have to keep up with them.

They chase points on them.

We also saw it with Cooper Cup, Chris Godwin and DK Metcalf.

And now it's CD Lamb's turn to be the one to take over.
