Dallas Cowboys vs. Detroit Lions inactive: Caelen Carson, Deuce Vaughn are out again

The Cowboys are preparing for their opener against the Lions, their last game before the bye, and it appears they will be more than happy to have the time for some rest and recuperation. The list of inactive players again includes several players who are struggling with injuries:

Both Micah Parsons and Eric Kendricks were ruled out earlier this week, so it's not a big surprise to see either of them on this list. Parsons also missed last week and there is optimism he can return after the bye week.

Caelen Carson is out with an injury for the third week in a row, which is a bit of a surprise given recent developments at cornerback. DaRon Bland had his practice window activated this week and there was initial belief that he would play today. But on Saturday there was news that Bland would be shelved until after the bye week, making it a bit of a surprise that Carson isn't ready to go either.

Joining the three injured Cowboys on the inactive list are Deuce Vaughn, Matt Waletzko, John Stephens Jr. and Trey Lance, the latter of whom is the designated emergency quarterback. This is now the second game in a row where Vaughn has a healthy lead.

As for the Lions, they come into this game pretty healthy. There are only healthy scratches on the inactive list, which isn't exactly surprising for a team coming off its own bye week.
