winner

Christopher Bell

Christopher Bell, like Larson, was able to complete most of the final stage with ease, having secured a place in the round of 8 based on points. Bell finished second behind Larson but ran at the front of the field for most of the day. Bell still has some work to do to get into the Championship 4.

Kyle Larson

Larson won the race, dominating the second half and leading 62 laps. After the second stage he secured a place in the round of 8 based on points and was able to take on the last stage in a relaxed manner. Despite not being the top seed in the playoffs, Larson is one of the favorites for a spot in Championship 4, adding a second championship to his career after winning the 2021 title.

Tyler Reddick

Tyler Reddick faced many problems in the first half of the race after colliding with Denny Hamlin, co-owner of the 23XI Racing car. Reddick's right rear hitch was so bent that the No. 45 team had to replace it. Reddick was unhappy with the car midway through the race and had to make several unscheduled pit stops. Reddick then fought back and drove through the field to 12th, taking the final playoff spot from Joey Logano.

Charlotte ROVAL

Sunday's race was somewhat unknown due to the changes to the circuit. Turn 6 was moved to another corner in the infield, a sweeping right-hander after a long straight from Turn 5. Then hairpin Turn 7 brought the drivers back onto the oval at Charlotte. Turn 16, the chicane in the front part, has been made sharper. Drivers were penalized for cornering, which lowered the curbs by 1.5 inches to limit the impact on cars.

While there were some interesting spins in Turn 7 and high-speed incidents with stop-and-go penalties on the track, the slower speed of the race made for a lackluster race and took away a significant amount of the drama that fans love in an elimination race . Thank goodness Tyler Reddick drove down the field and caused some drama.

Chase Briscoe

Chase Briscoe's wife gave birth to twins this week, so he's a winner. However, he was eliminated from the playoffs after riding hard early in the race at Charlotte. Briscoe had left front suspension problems and couldn't even recover to get back on track.

Alex Bowman

Alex Bowman was disqualified from Sunday's race at Charlotte after his No. 48 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet failed to meet the minimum weight requirement during post-race inspection. Bowman's attempt to win a championship ends after disqualification. Bowman had a great run at the track and consistently made it through the playoff races, but a setup issue cost him dearly.
