3 winners (and 4 losers) from the Commanders' loss at the Ravens in Week 6

The Washington Commanders' Week 6 loss to the Baltimore Ravens wasn't a complete disaster. They tried bravely and fought until the end before failing. Their complications came on the defensive side, as Joe Whitt Jr.'s unit failed to counter the outstanding gifts of Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry and Zay Flowers.

This was a steep learning curve for the commanders. Dan Quinn will know a lot more about his team after this. The head coach didn't want to use it as a benchmark, but despite an excellent start to the season, they're still a long way from getting into the Super Bowl discussion.

The Commanders will need full commitment from everyone involved if they want to compete with teams like the Ravens. A period of underperformance is enough to make things difficult compared to the elite. But it's also worth remembering what a monumental challenge Quinn's men faced, and this is just the first season of a major rebuild from the ground up.

Loser #1

Jeremy Chinn – Commander S

The Washington Commanders expected big things from Jeremy Chinn here. They needed the security to get closer to the offensive line and support the fearsome Baltimore Ravens attack. When the situation required it, they also tasked the former second-round pick with coverage support on the back end. His good form in recent weeks gives cause for encouragement.

Chinn didn't perform well. He wasn't alone in that regard, particularly in the secondary, but the Commanders relied heavily on the instinctive defender to navigate the football and make plays. This didn't happen nearly often enough, although they did win eight tackles over the course of the contest.

The player's lack of cover was a concern when he joined the Commanders. It was a disappointment, but Washington won't see many more attacks like this moving forward. This makes Chinn a prime rebounding candidate in Week 7 against the Carolina Panthers, his former team.
