New York Jets standout Haason Reddick is facing a lawsuit from a business partner who accuses him of withholding funds from the sale of a senior nursing home they had invested in, according to New York Jets forward Abraham Gutman Philadelphia Investigators.

Micah Khan said in the lawsuit that he is entitled to more than $1.6 million under an agreement he reached with Reddick in 2021.

Reddick hired Khan's Kingdom Health Services to handle marketing and business development for Haven Home Health Services. According to Gutman, Khan claimed that the company “made a loss with zero patients” and subsequently found better financial footing. Haven sold in April for $3.25 million.

In addition to failing to pay Khan, the plaintiff claims that Raymond Matthews, Reddick's father, brought “security” to a meeting about Reddick keeping up his end of their agreement.

“Mr. Matthews brought more than a dozen black-gloved men to a business meeting and claimed they were 'Haason's personal security,'” Khan said in court papers. “At that post-sale meeting, Mr. Matthews made it clear that they intended to breach their payment obligations to Kingdom.”

Ross Wolfe, Khan's attorney, issued a statement after the lawsuit was filed.

“Mr. However, Reddick's accolades as a professional athlete in Philadelphia do not relieve him of his contractual obligations to my client,” he said, according to Gutman. “The work Mr. Khan does for Haven Home Health Agency supports his family.”

Edward S. Robson, who represents Reddick, responded to the lawsuit, calling it “an ordinary commercial dispute.” He claimed that Khan was trying to “increase the value of his legal claim by naming an NFL superstar as a defendant.”

Robson claimed the lawsuit “revolves around an event that did not occur – the sale of Haven Home Health Agency.”

Reddick remains committed to a new deal with the Jets. After his offseason transfer from the Philadelphia Eagles, he did not appear in a single game for the team. Missing a season would mean losing nearly $21.8 million in total revenue.

In a media call following the firing of head coach Robert Saleh, Jets owner Woody Johnson said the team remains open to adding the two-time Pro Bowler to the roster.

However, the saga took a different turn when Creative Artists Agency reportedly fired Reddick as a client this week.
