Mbappe's lawyer says the Real Madrid striker was “stunned by the media frenzy” following the incident in Stockholm.

Kylian Mbappe is currently in the media spotlight following allegations linking him to an investigation into an incident at a Stockholm hotel.

Swedish media reports have linked the Real Madrid striker to an alleged rape that took place while he was in the city with his entourage. However, Mbappe's legal team immediately rejected these claims and is taking legal action to defend his reputation.

Mbappé's lawyer, Marie-Alix Canu-Bernard, has firmly denied any involvement of the footballer in the alleged incident.

She stressed that Mbappe never finds himself in situations that could be considered risky, making it impossible for him to be involved in such a case.

The lawyer further stated that he intends to file a formal defamation complaint, underlining how seriously he takes the allegations spread by some media outlets.

“We read the press. The Stockholm public prosecutor's office has issued a press release, but it does not allow us to conclude whether the target is Kylian Mbappé.” She said, as quoted by Mundo Deportivo.

Canu-Bernard made it clear that there was currently no official confirmation from the Stockholm public prosecutor's office that Mbappe was being targeted by the investigation.

Nevertheless, media speculation continued, causing confusion and concern among fans and observers.

“Therefore, I have no information that would allow me to confirm whether he is actually acting on the basis of a complaint filed against him.”

Handle with care

According to Canu-Bernard, Mbappe is handling the situation calmly but is confused by the level of media coverage.

“He is never alone, he never puts himself in a risky situation. This completely rules out the possibility that he has committed any wrongdoing. That is an absolute certainty.”

The lawyer stressed that Mbappe remains focused on his football and continues to train at Real Madrid, showing that he is not allowing the allegations to distract him from his professional duties.

“He is particularly calm but stunned by this media hype, which he doesn't understand because you can't blame him for anything.”

“Proof of this is that he trained today (with his club Real Madrid). There is nothing to be blamed for,” she remarked.

Although Mbappe may be required to respond in the Swedish courts, his legal team remains firmly convinced that he is completely innocent.
