Lizotte, who is on the injured list due to a concussion suffered in pre-season, was said to have taken a “step forward” with his workload on Wednesday.

• Sabers coach Lindy Ruff says goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen will start for Buffalo. Through two games this season, he has a 0-2-0 record, a 2.56 goals-against average and an .886 save percentage.
