Harris' Fox News interview with Bret Baier was a ratings hit

Vice President Kamala Harris' interview with Fox News host Bret Baier was a ratings hit, reaching over 7.1 million viewers just 20 days before the November presidential election.

The Harris campaign's move to sit down for an interview with the conservative-leaning cable news channel certainly got their message across to viewers. The controversial interview was the highest-rated of all of Harris' recent appearances on cable news shows during her tenure Media Blitz– including her appearance 60 minuteswhich was watched by 5.7 million viewers, according to early Nielsen data released by Fox News.

It also topped her September interview with CNN's Dana Bash – another controversial back and forth According to Nielsen, the film attracted 6.3 million viewers.

Even more people tuned in to see a replay of the Baier interview at noon, bringing total viewership to 8.5 million, Fox said.

About 882,000 of those viewers in the first broadcast were in the coveted 25-54 age group, a number that jumped to at least 1.2 million after the midnight broadcast, according to Fox.

Fox also broadcast an event with former President Donald Trump on the same day – a town hall in Georgia focused on women's issues and moderated by Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner. The women-only event attracted approximately 2.9 million viewers, of which only about 338,000 were between the ages of 25 and 54.

However, the time slot may have had an impact on viewership –Special report with Bret Baier was broadcast at 6:00 p.m. while the town hall aired at 11:00 a.m
