Hulu Live's crash during the MLB playoffs infuriated fans

The Cleveland Guardians defeated the New York Yankees 7-5 on Thursday night. David Fry hit a walk-off home run in the 10th inning in front of the home crowd to win the game. But those watching the game on Hulu Live couldn't see that, as the service crashed in the previous half-inning around 9 p.m. ET.

It was incredibly unfortunate timing for the streaming service, which had an entire advertising campaign built around the fact that it had live sports coverage. Even though there is live sports, no one could watch them during the ALCS and NLCS, not to mention there was college football on and it's the first week of the NHL season.

Oh, and the price of all Hulu + Live TV plans went up by $6 on Thursday.

Fans, including the author of this article, were not happy.

In one home, old and new technology came together so a couple could hear the end of the Guardians-Yankees game on the radio… through their refrigerator.

Hulu returned about 50 minutes later at the start of the 5th inning of Game 4 between the New York Mets and Los Angeles Dodgers.
