'The View's' Sara Haines Says Bret Baier Repeatedly Interrupted Fox Interview With Kamala Harris 'Because She's a Woman'

Haines said Harris' interview on Fox was “a little hard to watch at times” because of Baier's interruption.

The view Co-host Sara Haines addresses reporter Bret Baier's behavior during his Fox News interview with presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris.

After Harris' meeting with Baier was broadcast on the conservative channel on Wednesday, the ladies of The view responded to the exchange on Thursday's live show, with Haines and former Donald Trump White House communications staffer Alyssa Farah Griffin criticizing Baier's behavior throughout the conversation.

“I think she was smart to show up. She's running, she says all the time, to be president to all Americans, which includes Fox News viewers,” Griffin, 35, noted, calling the entire interview a “mixed bag.” Victories and failures for Harris, less than three weeks before Americans vote. “She showed up and proved to Fox News viewers that she's not an idiot like Trump called her, that she's in command of the facts and that she's rejected the idea that she can't be tough.”

She added, “I think he interrupted her way too much,” to which Haines, 47, agreed.

“With this constant jumping in, I felt like he was going to continue to do this because she was a woman. So it was a little difficult to watch at times,” Haines replied. “You allow yourself to define who you are. When they hear it from your mouth, people won't just talk about it, so people will watch and see how she held her own.”

Haines added that she wished Harris had pointed out the “misinformation and disinformation” that she said Fox News was spreading because Harris is “running against a person who is constantly engaging in these conspiracy theories,” she concluded.

Both Griffin and Haines pointed to a notable moment from the Baier-Harris interview in which the journalist interrupted Harris as she attempted to answer a question about immigration.

“May I please finish answering?” You have to please let me finish,” Harris said after Baier tried to talk about her answer. “I am in the process of responding to the point you raised and would like to conclude.”
