Montclair residents may notice a familiar setting when watching a new movie released on Netflix this month.

The White Rabbit Black Heart gift shop on Glenridge Avenue is featured in the film “Girl Haunts Boy,” which premiered Oct. 10 on the streaming platform. In the film, Peyton List plays the role of Bea, a ghost from the 1920s who inhabits the new home of Cole, played by Michael Cimino.

The release of “Girl Haunts Boy” comes approximately 16 months after the Montclair Gift Shop shooting. The company commemorated the visit in a social media post on Monday, which included behind-the-scenes footage of the crew as well as a short clip from the film in which Cimino's character enters the store.

“In June 2022, White Rabbit Black Heart opened its doors to a world of the supernatural and became the eerie and enchanting set of the recently released Netflix film Girl Haunts Boy!” the store announced. “For four breathtaking days, over 100 cast and crew members filled our space with the thrill of the unknown, creating a story that lingers long after the cameras stop rolling.”

“Girl Haunts Boy” was originally planned for HBO Max before being acquired by Netflix. The film is rated PG and has a running time of one hour and 40 minutes.

List, 26, is best known for her roles in the “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” film series, the Disney Channel series “Jessie” and Netflix’s “Cobra Kai.” She also appeared in the film “27 Dresses” as a younger version of the main character played by Katherine Heigl.

Cimino, 24, played the title character in the Hulu series “Love, Victor” from 2020 to 2022. He is a voice actor for several Disney Channel shows and is also a musician, a talent he showcases in “Girl Haunts Boy.”
