Gomez says that her mother Mandy Teefeywho gave birth to the star when she was just 16, is a huge source of love and support when life is difficult for her. “You know, my mom always taught me that the noise is going to be there all the time, but it's about finding the moment where I actually physically say, 'No, I'm a good person, I'm nice, I'm work really hard.' “I’m grateful and I love all the little things in life,” and I need that reminder,” she said.
