TreeHouse Foods is voluntarily recalling certain frozen waffle products because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

Listeria monocytogenesis is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, the frail or elderly, and others with weakened immune systems.

Healthy people may only experience short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea.

Infection with Listeria monocytogenes can cause miscarriages and stillbirths in pregnant women.

The recalled products were distributed in the United States and Canada and packaged in various formats under the brands listed below.

Consumers and retailers can see the UPC on the back of the box, as well as the lot code and best-before date for these products at the bottom of the box.

To date, there have been no confirmed reports of illness associated with the recalled products. Anyone who is concerned about an illness should contact a healthcare provider.

This issue was discovered through routine testing at the production facility.
