Wrexham predicted XI, team and injury updates as Ollie Palmer was ruled out against Rotherham United

Wrexham face Rotherham United in a League One clash on Saturday October 19th.

Phil Parkinson's men endured quite a difficult period before the October international break.

They drew 0-0 against Leyton Orient before suffering a 1-0 defeat against Stevenage.

That left Wrexham two points behind League One leaders Birmingham City, having played a game more than the Blues.

However, in the last meeting before the final break, the Welsh team returned to winning ways.

James McClean and Ryan Barnett were among the standouts as Wrexham beat Northampton Town 4-1.

However, this tie took place at the Racecourse Ground, where the Red Dragons are currently unbeaten in 2024/25.

Their away record is significantly less impressive this season, but they should still be favorites to beat Rotherham United's side, who currently sit mid-table.

Wrexham team news ahead of Rotherham United

Wrexham have three major injury concerns ahead of their clash with Rotherham on Saturday afternoon.

Max Cleworth picked up an ankle injury against Leyton Orient, George Evans “felt something snap” against Stevenage and Luke Bolton is also currently out with an issue.

Earlier this week, Parkinson gave an injury update on Cleworth, Evans and Bolton, and it's good news for the former of that trio, but Evans is out for an extended period.

He said: “The team looks strong and we need everyone for the coming week.

“Max is making good progress. He's back on the pitch this week, but we'll know more in the next three or four days how fast that progress will be.

“Luke is back in training which is great. He had a problem with his foot but ran a lot last week and has now fully joined the boys.

“George will be here for the long term.”

Wrexham predicted XI against Rotherham United

There could be a few changes to Wrexham's starting lineup this weekend, including Ollie Palmer dropping to the bench.

Palmer has previously been described as “brilliant” and despite recently putting pen to paper on a new contract, he is missing target returns this season.

This means summer signing Modou Faal could finally get his first taste of League One action this weekend.

The striker began midweek with Wrexham fans naming Faal man of the match against Wolves U21s.

The rest of the eleven is likely to look very similar to the one that started the win over Northampton, although Cleworth could potentially replace Scarr at centre-back if he is fit enough.

We expect Wrexham to face Rotherham on Saturday…
