Harris agrees with Heckler that Israel is committing genocide

US presidential candidate Kamala Harris appeared to claim that Israel is committing genocide during a conversation in Milwaukee on Thursday, calling it “real”.

In videos shared on social media Saturday evening, Kamala Harris is seen giving a speech to a group of students at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee before being interrupted by a student who asks her to talk about “the genocide.” to speak in Gaza.

Harris tells the students that she is “so invested in them” before being interrupted by the student who says, “And in genocide, right? Billions of dollars in genocide you invested in?”

In response, Harris said she respected the student's right to speak.

“I respect your right to speak. Speaking now, I know what you're talking about. I want the ceasefire. I want the war to end.”

The male student, wearing a keffiyeh, continues to question her about the genocide as he pushes through the crowd toward Harris.

Harris then points to the student, who is being escorted out of the room by security, and says to the crowd, “Listen to what he’s talking about, it’s real. It's real. “That’s not the topic I wanted to talk about today, but it’s real,” and I respect his voice.

UWM police removed the heckler, who was cited for disorderly conduct, according to a university spokesperson.

Former US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman said New York Post that Harris had just “publicly confirmed the false and malicious accusation that Israel is committing genocide.”

“Many, including myself, always suspected that she represented this distorted, anti-Semitic view of Israel's self-defense against the barbarism of Hamas. But now the cat is out of the bag,” he told the US media on Saturday.

“Your view is as ignorant as it is malicious. … Publicly believing this vile blood libel disqualifies Harris from holding public office, let alone the presidency,” he added.

The heckler appeared to be affiliated with the group UW-Milwaukee Popular University for Palestine Coalition, which posted a video on its Instagram along with the National SJP.

Alongside the video, the group wrote that they staged a massive student protest against Harris' lecture at four locations outside the hall and that a student interrupted the lecture.

“As she left the event, her motorcade had to drive right past all of the protesters,” the statement continued.

This was confirmed by the Milwaukee Journal SentinelIt said Harris' motorcade drove past pro-Palestinian protesters on campus before arriving at the meeting at the Lubar Entrepreneurship Center, which journalists were not allowed to attend.

According to reports on social media, some of the pro-Palestinian protesters outside the event refused to leave and lay on the ground.
