Derek Jeter wants nothing to do with Mr., Mrs. Met after David Ortiz's embarrassing “love triangle” moment

Yankees legend Derek Jeter could only take so much of his former crosstown rivals' lovable mascots – leading to an awkward moment during Fox Sports' postgame show.

Mr. and Mrs. Mets joined the Fox team with Kevin Burkhardt, Alex Rodriguez, David Ortiz and Jeter on the third base line at Citi Field after the Mets defeated the Dodgers 12-6 in Game 5 of the NLCS on Friday night had.

The embarrassment started with Ortiz's comments to the duo, particularly Mrs. Met.

“My girl is here. Come here, darling,” the former Red Sox star said before hugging Mrs. Met and giving her a kiss on the cheek.

He didn't stop when Mr. Met came over to jokingly confront him.

“See Kevin, when you win, everything is divisible,” Ortiz said, stunning a laughing Burkhardt and Rodrigez. “I just made it up, everything is shareable.”

“Is this a love triangle?” Burkhardt responded as Ortiz began to walk away with Mrs. Met. “I think this is a show for another network.”

Jeter, who won five World Series with the Yankees, including the 2000 Subway Series against the Mets, seemed to be having a good time up until then.

But he quickly began organizing his note cards.

“The wheels are coming off,” said Rodriguez, summing up what had just happened with a laugh.

The Mets seemed like their season was coming to an end, but they rode an early three-run home run from Pete Alonso to a convincing victory, cutting the Dodgers' lead in the series to 3-2.

They'll try to force a winner-takes-all Game 7, with Sean Manaea taking the mound in Game 6 in Los Angeles on Sunday.
