NEW DELHI: Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif has once again come forward to applaud young batting sensation Sarfaraz Khan, whose determined 150-run knock in the second innings of the first Test against New Zealand won wide praise.
Kaif stressed that Sarfaraz's fitness should not be a factor in team selection, saying that the young cricketer's skills far exceed aesthetic expectations.
Referring to an earlier post about Sarfaraz's challenging childhood cricket is a game that suits everyone.”

Sarfaraz's tough century on the fourth day of the Bengaluru Test was a crucial save for India and helped them reduce New Zealand's first innings lead and secure a face-saving result ahead of the final day.
The 26-year-old, who was brought into the starting lineup due to Shubman Gill's stiff neck, redeemed himself after scoring a duck in the first innings.
His 110-ball century was studded with 13 fours and three sixes, highlighting both his resilience and attacking intent.

Sarfaraz reached the milestone in style, breaking through a Tim Southee boundary and celebrating with his arms raised as he sprinted around the pitch.
This was Sarfaraz's first Test century. In just four Tests since his debut against England earlier this year, he has already racked up scores and four half-centuries, establishing himself as a promising future star for India.
Sarfaraz's journey to the Indian Test team was hard-fought. He caught the attention of the selectors with exceptional performances in domestic cricket, where he boasted a stunning first-class average of 69.09 in 51 matches.
Interestingly, through his innings, Sarfaraz was part of a rare feat in cricket – he scored both a duck and a century in the same Test.
