Exit: Michigan

25. Washington State. This could be the week we see the now bowl-eligible Cougars crack the top 25 rankings after posting a solid 6-1 record after destroying Hawaii as quarterback John Mateer went for 5 was responsible for all-purpose touchdowns.

24. Navy. Not the Midshipmen's usual dominance on the field, but they forced five turnovers, including two pick-sixes from Dashaun Peele, to beat Charlotte and move to 6-0. They left the AAC as playoff sleepers and were looking forward to a major next weekend against Notre Dame.

23rd Army. The Black Knights, as expected, managed nearly 300 yards rushing and quarterback Bryson Daily accounted for 6 total touchdowns, including all 5 on the ground, to defeat East Carolina and remain undefeated at home against Air Force in two weeks.

20. Illinois. Luke Altmyer had just 80 yards passing, but he ran for a score and threw another touchdown and the Illini defense forced Michigan into three turnovers to improve to 3-1 in Big Ten play but the next weekend a big trip to undefeated Oregon is coming up.

19. Ole Miss. This weekend, the struggling Rebels are 1-2 in SEC play, but are just 6 points overall away from being undefeated, and their third-ranked Air Attack will go toe-to-toe against Oklahoma's defense next Saturday.

18. Missouri. A gutsy return performance from quarterback Brady Cook from his initial injury helped the Tigers come from behind to secure a win against Auburn and avoid a crushing second SEC loss heading into a date at Alabama next weekend.

17. Kansas State. Avery Johnson threw three touchdowns on a 412-yard effort to dominate West Virginia on the road and move to 3-1 in Big 12 play heading into next weekend's game against Kansas.

16.Alabama. Crisis time for Kalen DeBoer and Alabama after a second loss, this time on the road to Tennessee, and essentially another loss before playoff elimination. What a turn of events after Bama beat Georgia and was the No. 1 team in the country. Since then, it has lost to Vanderbilt and the Vols and was nearly upset at home by South Carolina.

15. Boise State. At the top of the Mountain West and 5-1 overall, the Broncos had a break this weekend to rest before traveling to UNLV next Friday, where Ashton Jeanty, college football's No. 3 rushing offense, will play , who currently has 1,248 yards and 17 touchdowns this season.

14. Texas A&M. The Aggies survived two turnovers and played a back-and-forth game against Mississippi State as Conner Weigman had two picks, earned a narrow 10-point win and became the first SEC team with a 4-0 conference record this season , with a date against LSU next weekend.

13.Indiana. We were waiting to see how the Hoosiers' offense would perform against a real defense, and it passed that test and more, dismantling Nebraska by a score of 56-7, scoring eight touchdowns and suddenly making Indiana look more like a realistic playoff team in the open field.

12.BYU. Officially the top team in the Big 12, the Cougars moved to 7-0 after Jake Retzlaff threw a game-winning touchdown against Oklahoma State with 10 seconds left and head to UCF next weekend.

11. Notre Dame. Riley Leonard threw for 203 yards and ran for 2 touchdowns as the Irish scored 31 unanswered points in a win over Georgia Tech. Now a big duel awaits against the undefeated Navy, where the aim is to avoid a second defeat this year.

10. Clemson. Cade Klubnik managed more than 300 yards passing and Phil Mafah ran for 2 points to lead off the middle against Virginia, but the defense allowed 21 points in the fourth quarter, which might make some AP voters bristle, but the Tigers are in the ACC -Game 5:0.

9. Iowa State. Trailing by 5 yards, Rocco Becht led an 80-yard drive in 2 minutes with no timeouts and protected a 3-point UCF lead to keep the Cyclones undefeated in a frantic comeback attempt.

8. Tennessee. Despite some major offensive woes early in the game, the Vols came back to life in the second half as Dylan Sampson scored two touchdowns and Nico Iamaleava scored again late and survived three turnovers to defeat Alabama in a signature victory.

7.LSU. Make it 6 straight wins for the Tigers after Caden Durham ran for 101 yards and 3 touchdowns while the defense forced 3 takeaways in a decisive win at Arkansas with a road game next Saturday against ranked Texas A&M.

6.Miami. Louisville played its best game in a back-and-forth battle, but Cam Ward rushed for 319 yards and 4 touchdowns with no picks and the Canes ran for 222 yards in a 541-yard performance to remain undefeated at 7-0 looking forward to a very profitable completion schedule.

5.Texas. The Longhorns, held scoreless in the first half by Georgia's resurgent defense, stormed back after halftime and scored 15 points in the third quarter, but it wasn't enough as the No. 1 seed fell.

4. Ohio State. This week, the Buckeyes look to bounce back from a 1-point loss at Oregon the weekend before, when they were 1-2 in Big Ten play, with a home game against Nebraska looming before the following week Comes to a game-changing meeting at Penn State, conference title hopes may be on the line.

3. Penn State. The Nittany Lions, inactive this weekend, are still undefeated and ranked 9th in scoring in the country. Next up is a date at Wisconsin before facing one-loss Ohio State in a big Big Ten clash.

2. Georgia. Desperate to avoid a costly second loss, the Bulldogs made a statement against Texas, and with those first-place votes combined with a win over the No. 1 team, AP voters could move Georgia to the top of the polls bring this week, but a single defeat could be the deciding factor against it in most votes.

1.Oregon. The loss to the Longhorns should push the undefeated Ducks to No. 1 this week, as voters may prefer the perfect record even more than Georgia's win, but they will share some of those first-place votes with the Bulldogs.
