The Jacksonville Jaguars' comeback is highlighted by Parker Washington's record TD

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver/returner Parker Washington scored a franchise-record 96 yards for a touchdown with 1:34 left in the second quarter against the New England Patriots on Sunday at London's Wembley Stadium End of the second quarter The Jaguars led 22:10.

Washington collected Bryce Baringer's powerful 66-yard punt at the Jaguars' 4, but it was a classic case of out-kicking coverage. Washington, who had been the primary punt returner since Devin Duvernay's injury, ran past the first wave of coverage players, broke up the left sideline and scored easily, capping the run with a reverse dive into the end zone.

Not only was it a Jaguars record, it was also the first punt return for a goal in NFL International games. According to NFL NextGen stats, return punts have a 0.07 percent chance of being fielded inside the 5-yard line for touchdowns.

Washington broke Keelans Cole's record with a 91-yard punt return in 2020 against Green Bay, a 24-20 loss. It was the ninth punt return for a touchdown in team history and the first special teams touchdown for the Jaguars this season.
