Fans are shocked as Martin Brundle is brutally ignored by the driver during the grid walk for the US Grand Prix – F1

Martin Brundle suffered one of his biggest snubs in F1 grid walk history ahead of the United States Grand Prix.

The former racer did his thing at the start in Austin, Texas, interviewing all sorts of famous faces, including Olympians Gabby Thomas and Mondo Duplantis.

He also approached a few motorists, but had to face a strong rejection that made for extremely painful sights.

The 65-year-old was seen live on Sky Sports and tried to chat with Williams driver Franco Colapinto.

However, the Argentine clearly didn't feel like having a conversation and completely ignored Brundle.

After introducing himself, Brundle asked for a quick chat, but as Colapinto hurried away, he quipped: “Well, no, I think that's the answer to that.”

Brundle then seamlessly joined in a brief conversation with celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.

He's been harassed by a number of celebrities over the years, but having a driver ignore him wasn't entirely on the cards.

And of course there was a reaction from the audience when Brundle was given a large custard pie.

One said: “HAHAHA FRANCO COLAPINTO I don't think I've ever seen anyone blank Martin Brundle so hard, let alone a driver.”

A second added: “Franco Colapinto raced past Martin Brundle on the grid walk like he was a second rate reporter.”

A third commented: “Franco Colapinto absolutely blanked Martin Brundle #DIVA.”

A fourth responded: “FRANCO COLAPINTO HAD ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT MARTIN BRUNDLE.”

Another user replied: “Disappointed that Franco Colapinto completely ignored Martin Brundle on the starting grid. I was under no obligation to speak to him, but this was inappropriate.”

A final person predicted: “Franco Colapinto will immediately regret his blanking and being rude to Martin Brundle.”

Colapinto is a newcomer to the block, having only made his debut at the Italian Grand Prix until the end of the season as a replacement for Logan Sargeant.

The 21-year-old is the first Argentine to compete in Formula 1 in more than 20 years.
